Humble Beginnings
Hey! I'm Jonathan, Co-Founder of Squibber. The summer after freshman year, I was working in concrete construction while scrambling to find a sublet. I landed on sketchy sites, paid just to message strangers, and hoped I wouldn't get kicked out after sending rent. It sucked, and I knew there had to be a safer way.
First Impressions
We originally built Squibber to help students connect with real estate agents. But after talking with my college friends, we realized the real pain wasn't connecting with real estate agents but subleasing. From the start, we saw a lot of interest, so we shifted focus to what students actually needed.
Early Success
We launched our pilot at Tufts, and it blew up! Through pure word-of-mouth, we quickly reached over 2,000 active users and even made the front page of the Tufts Daily.
Where We Are
A few months later, BANG! Seth Lupo joined as my co-founder, and soon after, we won over $30,000 from the Tufts New Venture Challenge. Our story started making waves beyond campus, with features across Boston and in local media outlets.
